Our Donegal yarns are a super soft blend of 85% Superwash Merino and 15% Neps.  Donegal Aran has brown & black neps and a slightly grey toned base which adds a little depth to dyed colours.  There are 166m per 100g this yarn and it’s best suited to accessories and garments.  It is also suitable for weaving.

Suitable for weaving

Can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30°C however, we always recommend hand washing at a cool temperature with a gentle detergent or specialist wool wash.  While every care has been taken to remove excess dye some light bleeding may still occur.

Our Hand Dyed Yarn

Our yarn is dyed and finished by hand in our dedicated studio.  We take great care at every stage of processing and each skein is checked before sale to ensure it meets our high standards.   

As with all hand dyed yarns variations can occur from skein to skein and between batches, if you are using more than one skein of the same colourway in a project we recommend alternating skeins every one or two rows.
